2005-06 Indoor [3]

February 17th and 18th at the Arthur Ashe Athletic Center

All of the meets up to this point have been in preparation for this weekend. All of the practices have been focused on the next 3 weeks. The District Championship is the first of a 3 meet campaign that determines the legacy of this team. What will the 2005-06 Indoor track and field program put in the record books?

This has already been a cornerstone season. The time is now to come together as teammates to compete with intensity and focus in the pursuit of the District title. It will be close, but the depth of our team can and will prevail. Each of you must do your part to prove that we deserve the District Crown.

Friday:

Students will be released from class at 1:00 PM, Bus will depart at 1:15 PM.

(All athletes not competing Friday are encouraged to come and support their teammates in the first, and important day of competition for the district title)

Saturday:

Athletes should provide their own transportation. All athletes should be at the meet by 12:30 pm and should plan on staying until the 4 X 400 is over.

Be sure to remember: Racing shoes, uniform, water bottle, snacks, warm clothes to warm up in, and your A game.

Important Rules to remember:

• Uniform Rule: No jewelry of any kind can be worn, except 1 watch
• Girls can not roll your shorts up
• Relay teams uniforms and under shirts, shorts must match. Under shirts must be a solid color, no patterns.
• No under shirts, shorts can have a logo larger than 2 x 2 inches.
• In the 4 X 400 and 4 X 800 the receiving runner must be in front of the Triangle that marks the beginning of the Exchange Zone.
• No spikes are allowed in the Ashe Center
• Take hip numbers off immediately after competing and throw them in a trash can.
• Scoring is 10 - 8 - 6- 5-4-3-2-1 and medals go to the top 6 finishers in each event.

Directions:

Take 64 East to the Boulevard Exit, Take a right off the ramp, The Ashe Center is on your left.
