The DRHS Cross-Country team had a good showing at the Colonial District
Championships last Saturday.
This meet, at the Pole Green Park XC

This course is 5000 meters on mostly flat grass/dirt with a couple of
short but very steep - tough hills, and is the site for many
central Virginia cross-country championship meets including the Virginia High School
Colonial and Capital District meets as well as the Central Region meet.
In addition, this year Pole Green Park XC course will be the host site
for USATF Junior Olympic Nationals held in December.
The teams attending the Colonial District Championship meet were:
- Deep Run
- Douglas Freeman
- Hermitage
- J.R. Tucker H.S.
- John Marshall
- Maggie Walker
- Mills Godwin
- Patrick Henry (Ashland)
- Thomas Jefferson
The DRHS girls finished second just behind Maggie Walker. The girls’
team featured four
All-District runners [3].

19:53 for 3rd place and Dobbs finished 4th with a 19:55.
The DRHS boys came away with fourth place and had three All-District runners [4]. Leading the DRHS boys were Seniors Greg Kaczka and Booth
