Briana Hudson captured Deep Run's first ever Track and Field State Championship title as she tied the Virginia State AAA high jump meet record with a personal best 5' 9" jump in her first attempt at the height.

Deep Run girls finish 3rd, boys 13th

Briana's 14 points led the Deep Run girls to a run at the Virginia AAA title that fell short of Midlothian and Bethel. In addition to her record-setting victory in the high jump, Briana took 5th place in the triple jump. Ashley Orr was 3rd in the long jump on Friday night and helped the girls' 4x200 M relay to a 6th place finish on Saturday. Courtlin LaReau gathered 10 points, with a 5th place finish in the 1600 and a 3rd in the 3200 M run.

Kirk Fischer nearly matched Briana's performance with his 2nd place finish in the boys high jump. Feild Craddock added 2.5 points in the high jump as he tied for 6th. Matt Armentrout added a 6th in the pole vault to bring the boys total to 13.5 points.
