The Wildcat Indoor Track and Field squads improved dramatically on last year's Central Region championship results.
Despite missing the hoped for team championship, the girls sent 6 individuals and two relay teams on to the Virginia state championship meet. Briana Hudson took the Regional crown in the high jump with a 5' 4" mark. Ashley Orr won the long jump title with an 18' 4.5" leap. Others individuals advancing to the state meet were Katelyn Zimmerman, Courtlin LaReau, Erin Bragg, and Joanna Hassell. The girls 2nd place 4x200 M relay (K. Fuson, M. Daly, I. Suzuki, J. Hassell) and 3rd place 4x800 M relay (C. Spriggs, E. Bragg, B. Draper, C. LaReau) also advance to the state meet.
The boys also won two Regional titles. Matthew Armentrout cleared 13' even to win the Pole Vault and Kirk Fischer captured another high jump victory with a jump of 6' 6". Drew Spicer also advanced to the State meet along with the boys 4x800 M relay team (M. Turner, D. Franklin, D. Spicer, D. Lynch.)
