Highlights from Deep Run's latest win at St. Christopher's 6-way.
The Indoor Track program had a fine showing at the St. Christopher's 6-way meet. Both the Men and the Women defeated Maggie Walker, Thomas Dale, Atlee, St. Christopher's, and St. Catherine's.
Highlights from the field events were Kirk Fischer's break through Long Jump of 20' 4" followed by his stunning high jump of 6'6". Ashley Orr bettered her state qualifying long jump to 17' 9". Briana Hudson and Katelyn Zimmerman stayed consistent in the High Jump with Hudson winning at 5' 2" and Zimmerman clearing 5' 0" for third. Matthew Armentrout won the Pole Vault in 13'0" which also meets the state qualifying mark. Matt Ludvik also vaulted well to a 11'0" 5th place finish. Freshman Thomas Fuson won the JV Shot Put on his last throw of 36'8". Robert Partin turned in a PR 18'1.75" long jump.
In the running events Courtlin LaReau had an outstanding meet with her 5:04 1600 M and 3:00.76 1000 M wins. The girls 4 X 200 team of Orr, Hassell, Fuson and Hudson just missed state qualifying with their 1.47.64. Orr also ran a strong 300 in 42.56. Rebecca Wayland turned in a PR 1600 in 5:47.08. Erin Bragg hit regional qualifying in her first race of the indoor season, going 11:53.70 in the 3200 M and finishing second. Sam Autry, Jacquelyn Wright, and Brittany Smith swept the 55 M Hurdles. 8th Grader Erica Dobbs blew out the JV 1000 M in 3:24.
