"A runners creed:
I will win; if I cannot win, I shall be second; if I cannot be second, I shall be third; if I cannot place at all, I shall still do my best."
- Ken Doherty
Athletes, bring the attitude of the quote above into your race on Saturday. Fork Union is the official start of our competitive season that ends at the State meet. Have faith that the summer has made you strong and tough. Get outside your comfort zone in the second half of the race and see how many people you can beat. Each of you, as individuals, must compete with voracity and intensity. Let pride and purpose drive you to new levels as we take our team to greater heights than any of you have ever known.
