2009-10 INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Indoor Track and Field Begins Monday, November 16th at 4:10 pm. Practice is every school day from 4:10 to 6:15 pm. All students need to come out is a current (after May 15th, 2009) VHSL Physical Form.
-Conditioning for all athletes not in Fall sports will be Mon., Tues., Wed., and Thurs. at the track from 4:10 to 5:30 starting on Monday October 5th. On the other days you should be doing 10-20 minutes of running, with 6-8 accelerations, and 200 reps of ab work / 75 + push-ups.
- First day of Practice is Monday, November 16th
Meet at the Track at 4:10. Be On Time. The first week is a testing / tryout week.
- You must have a current (after May 1st 2009) completed VHSL physical form on file to practice: Turn in to Coach Stockdreher in Room 127 before you begin conditioning: NO EXCEPTIONS
Practice will be everyday from 4:10 - 6:15 pm. Attendance at all practices and Meets is Mandatory. Track and Field is a Varsity Sport at Deep Run.
-Almost all of our meets are on Saturdays. Make sure you are ready for this commitment.
Before The Season You Should:
1) Get a good pair of running shoes, warm, athletic clothes for practice in cold weather, a hat and gloves and a sportswatch with a stopwatch.
2) Be able to run at least 5 days a week for at least 20 min., do 200 ab exercies and 75 pushups.
3) After working out stretch
