Deep Run places two in State Championship meet

David Lynch and Megan Fuson will represent Deep Run Track and Field at this year's Virginia State Championship. This will be Deep Run's first year sending representatives from both the boys and girls teams to the state meet. At the Central Region Championship meet, David placed 5th in the 500 M, winning the 3rd of 5 sections and waiting to see whether his 1:12.03 time would be fast enough to qualify. Megan also won her heat in the 300 M, the 4th of 5 and was assured of qualification with only 4 girls running in the last heat. Megan's 43.59 set the Deep Run standard.
The Deep Run girls 4X800 M relay captured 8th to complete the scoring for Deep Run at this year's regional championship. Erin Bragg was stricken with the flu after Friday night's competition and was unable to run in the 1000 M.
