Deep Run XC Teams Make Big Strides at Brentsville

The Deep Run Boys and Girls Cross Country teams showed solid improvement under the lights at the Brentsville Relays on September 16.

Paced by Drew Spicer, the boy’s A team finished in the 24th position in a field of 57 teams that included some of the region’s best. The boys finished the 12,500 meter course in 42:23, an improvement over last year’s time of 43:36. The Boy’s B team finished in 20th position with a time of 44:55, a dramatic improvement over 2005’s 47:28 which was good for 42nd place. The boy’s C team also recorded an improvement of nearly two minutes over last year’s time.

In the girl’s races Deep Run’s teams also improved over last year’s results. The A team finished in the 13th spot in a 48 team field with a time of 49:51, topping last year’s 50:13. The B girls finished in 9th place, improving on last year’s time by more than three minutes, while the girls C team also finished in the 9th spot, with a time of 55:55, an improvement of more than one minute over last year’s time.
